What this is

Debate is a place to argue in public, with sources. You post arguments and quotes, vote on debates, and discuss with other users.

Your content

You own what you post. By posting, you give us permission to display, distribute, and store it as part of running the site — including keeping it visible if you later delete your account, since removing arguments after the fact would corrupt the debate record for everyone else.

What is expected of you

• Quotes attributed to a real person must be real and accurately sourced. Fabricated or deliberately misattributed quotes are not tolerated and will be removed.
• No harassment, threats, or targeted abuse of other users.
• No spam, vote manipulation, or automated posting.
• One account per person.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Use the report tool on any post to flag a problem.

No warranty

Debate is provided as-is. Arguments and quotes on the site reflect what users have submitted; we do our best to require sourcing, but we do not independently fact-check every claim, and the presence of a claim on this site is not itself proof it is true.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new terms.
